"Unsung Heroes of Soul: The Philly Sound” is a one-hour documentary about the musical legends who created some of the most successful pop music of the 20th century. Writers, arrangers, studio musicians, and engineers describe the unique styles of producers Kenny Gamble, Leon Huff, and Thom Bell. Together, they created songs like “Love Train,” “If You Don’t Know Me By Now,” “Soul Train Theme,” “People Make The World Go Round,” “Ain’t No Stoppin' Us Now,” and many others that came to be known as “Philly Soul.”
The documentary features rare interviews with William Hart (The Delfonics), Earl Young (The Trammps), Vince Montana (Salsoul Orchestra), Weldon McDougal (The Larks), and Bobby Eli (MFSB).
